Winona County, located in southeast Minnesota is named for Wabasha, a family of three successful Native American Chiefs in the area.
The seat is Wabasha while the largest city is Lake City.
It borders Winona, Olmsted and Goodhue Counties in Minnesota, as well as Pepin and Buffalo Counties in Wisconsin.
Main highways include US-61, US-63, MN-42, MN-60 and MN-74.
